Orlando Gili (b.1984, Britain) is a London based award-winning portrait and documentary photographer, creating direct and beautiful images, often with a playful sense of humour. Orlando is drawn to rich complimentary colours, and a clean pared back aesthetic, using the camera to bring order to a disorganized world. Gili’s personal work explores recurring themes – the different ways people come together socially, celebrating eccentricity and individual self-expression, and giving attention to often lessor photographed subjects. Underpinning all his work is a belief, that deep down we are all the same.

The photographer’s images have featured regularly in Guardian Saturday, The Sunday Times Magazine, and The Economist. Gili has had three books published: Trivial Pursuits - The English at Play “a humane portrait of a nation not only unwinding but navigating its history and place in today’s world” (CNN). An Opinionated Guide To London Pubs and Que Sera, Sera “I cannot think of a better book on football in the UK” (Martin Parr).
